Perpetual Treasuries Owner Arjuna Aloysius and its Chief Executive Officer Kasun Palisena have been further remanded til February 16 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.
They were produced before court this morning by the Criminal Investigations Department this morning.
They are being questioned with regard to the Bond scam, which, according to the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCOI), has caused a Rs. 9 billion loss to the government.
Aloysius, Palisena and former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Aloysius have been named as suspects in the case.
It is learnt that the former Central Bank Governor Mahendran's arrest too is imminent with regard to the same investigation. However, informed sources within the Police Department said arresting Mahendran was a complicated matter as the latter was a Singaporean citizen.
