Dhananjaya's Century And Mendis' Fifty Lay Strong Foundation: Sri Lanka Solid At Conclusion Of Day 02

February 01, 2018

Sri Lanka found itself in a solid position at the conclusion of Day 02 of the first Test match against Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka were 187/1 (48 overs) replying to a mammoth first innings score of Bangladesh ( 513 all out).

Dhananjaya de silva scored his fourth test hundred while Kusal Mendis also accumulated some much needed runs under his belt. Mendis is just 18 runs away from his fourth Test century.

Sri Lanka still needs 326 runs to match Bangladesh's first innings score, with nine wickets remaining.

Sri Lanka's regular opener Dimuth Karunaratne got out without scoring, as Sri Lanka began its first innings. Mendis, who opened alongside Karunaratne, and de Silva have laid a strong foundation since then.
