A former Additional Secretary and an Accountant of the Presidential Secretariat have been arrested over alleged financial misappropriations during the purchase of vehicles, under the previous administrations.
They were produced before court after the arrest and ordered to be remanded till January 29.
It has been revealed that details pertaining to 44 vehicles belonging to the presidential secretariat were not recorded in the documents at the presidential secretariat.
The CID said it was unable to find any document in respect of 44 vehicles because they were not listed in the inventory.
Former Presidential Secretariat Transport Director Keerthi S. Dissanayake who also was arrested previously in connection with three missing vehicles belonging to the presidential secretariat.
