This step was taken due to criticism which was directed towards the GCE Advanced Level Examination during the past few days. Some parties claimed that there were major errors in the Economics question paper and that the examination panel should be held responsible for this blunder.
The Ministry of Education fired back saying that no such errors were actually reported and that the parties who are crying foul have ulterior motives and hidden agendas.
Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that he had lodged a complaint with the Examinations Commissioner regarding the issue and had requested him to take necessary steps to prevent this sort of damaging propaganda during the examination period.
The Education Minister also added that this sort of ‘heinous’ acts should be condemned and through these shenanigans the actual party who suffers are the children sitting for the examination. He added that they are making these deceitful claims in order to fulfill their own private agendas.
Bandula Gunawardena sternly maintained that he intended to take severe action against the responsible parties.
