Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayaka said action has been recommended against almost the entire Joint Opposition in the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry on large scale acts of corruption (PRECIFAC).
"[I] hope the AG will take quick action on the bond report and this one," Ramanayaka said, commenting on the content of the report.
It was revealed that PRECIFAC had recommended action against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa for aiding and abetting corruption with regard to the ITN case.
The Commission has also recommended action against Joint Opposition members Basil Rajapaksa, Wimal Weerawansa, Sarath Kumara Gunaratne, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Priyankara Jayaratne, Jagath Pushpakumara and S.M. Ranjith.
Action has also been recommended against former Parliamentarian Duminda Silva, Upali Kodikara, Dhanasiri Amaratunga, Rohitha Bogollogama,Janaka Ranawaka, Nissanka Senadhipathi, Former Navy Chiefs Jayanath Kolmbage and Jayantha Perera over acts of Corruption.
