Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne this morning made an order preventing the sale or transfer of any lands belonging to former Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga.

Yesterday the court heard that the FCID had traced properties worth Rs.94 million belonging to the former Ambassador to Russia.

The FCID sought permission to issue a directive on preventing the sale of the afore mentioned properties to a third party.

Weeratunga is under investigation for financial fraud alleged to have taken place while procuring seven MiG-27 attack air craft for the Sri Lanka Air Force.
