The Ceylon Electricity Board workers have called off their strike this evening.
After a negotiation with the management, they agreed to report to work as usual from tomorrow morning.
The strike was announced last night alleging that a group of CEB employees were assaulted by the Police anti-riot Squad and the Special Task Force (STF) during a commotion within the CEB premises yesterday.
The workers at the CEB headquarters held their Chairman hostage for several hours yesterday, demanding immediate solutions to their grievances.
The CEB Chairman was later rescued by the Police anti-riot squad and the Special Task Force (STF), resulting in a commotion.
