Parliamentarian Ranjith de Soysa has been removed from his position as the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Organiser for Rakwana. 

Upali Chandrasena has been appointed as the new SLFP Organizer for Rakwana replacing de Zoysa. 

The decision has been made by President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Chairman of the party, informed SLFP sources said. 

De Zoysa came under criticism from the SLFP circles for supporting the election campaign of the Sri Lanka Podujana Party. 

He represents the Joint Opposition in Parliament. He now joins the long list of Joint Opposition MPs who got axed from their SLFP organiser positions for supporting former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's political campaign.
