Prime Minister Welcomes Friends Star Matt LeBlanc: Says 'Sri Lanka Welcomes You'

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has greeted Friends Star Matt LeBlanc 'Ayubowan' on Twitter saying, 'Sri Lanka welcomes you'. 

Wickremesinghe also retweeted a photograph the actor has posted, admiring the natural beauty of Sri Lanka.

"Sri Lanka is stunning" LeBlanc said, positing a picture of the country's scenic hill country.

Friends star Matt le Blanc is currently in Sri Lanka, filming for BBC Top Gear.

Top Gear, the long-running show travels to locations around the world, performing extreme stunts and challenges to see what the featured cars are capable of doing. Celebrity guests appear on some episodes to help test the vehicles. le Blanc has hosted the show since 2016. 

He attracted international recognition and acclaim for his portrayal of Joey Tribbiani on the popular sitcom Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004; for his work on Friends, LeBlanc received three Emmy Award nominations.

Le Blanc has also starred as a fictional version of himself in the BBC/ Showtime comedy series Episodes (2011–2017), for which he won a Golden Globe Awards and received four additional Emmy Award nominations.
