Informed sources closely associated with the BBC Top Gear production team confirmed that there is no event involving Friends Star Matt Le Blanc in Colombo tomorrow.
"This is a complete hoax by someone who wants to collect social media likes. Le Blanc will Be travelling to Mannar where they will try crossing the Palk Strait using a tuk tuk," a source associated with the BBC Top Gear production team told Asian Mirror.
An event created on Facebook asked Sri Lankan fans of Le blanc to visit Arcade Independence Square on Saturday morning for a meet and greet event with the Friends star.
"Matt LeBlanc, might visit only if over 500 people are attending this event. As this is last minute we have to take extra measures to provide security. Space is limited at the venue so do not be disappointed.
RSVP!," the Facebook post said.
Friends star Matt le Blanc is currently in Sri Lanka, filming for BBC Top Gear.Top Gear, the long-running show travels to locations around the world, performing extreme stunts and challenges to see what the featured cars are capable of doing. Celebrity guests appear on some episodes to help test the vehicles. le Blanc has hosted the show since 2016.
He attracted international recognition and acclaim for his portrayal of Joey Tribbiani on the popular sitcom Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004; for his work on Friends, LeBlanc received three Emmy Award nominations. Le Blanc has also starred as a fictional version of himself in the BBC/ Showtime comedy series Episodes (2011–2017), for which he won a Golden Globe Awards and received four additional Emmy Award nominations.
