U.R de Silva has been reelected as the President of the Sri Lanka Bar Association.
De Silva, a well-known criminal lawyer, was first elected as the President of the Bar Association, last year.
Educated at Ananda College, Colombo, De Silva was called to the Bar in 1983.
De Silva has previously functioned as the BASL Treasurer in 2001 and as Secretary in 2008.
He has also been the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Law Week of the Bar Association for several years and as the Commissioner of the Legal Aid Commission.
