The committee looking into the restructuring of SriLankan Airlines has accepted the resignation of five board directors of the national career.
The directors previously tendered their letters of resignation to facilitate restructuring of the cash-strapped airline.
The committee handling the restructuring of the airline is chaired by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. It is assisted by another committee headed by Treasury Secretary Dr. R.H.S Samaratunga.
British consultant Nyras Consulting Company, specialising in the global aviation sector, was appointed to lead the restructuring of the carrier.
A new board of directors is expected to be appointed in the coming days, government sources said.
