The United National Party is to hold a special national assembly at Campbell park on January 07, informed party sources said.
The assembly will be chaired by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and all MPs of the party will be requested to attend the meeting.
The assembly will take place in the wake of President Maithripala Sirisena's statement on the findings of the Treasury Bonds issue.
It will also coincide with the 3rd anniversary of the national unity government.
Party sources added that several important decisions would be made at the assembly.
The organisers of the party who were summoned to Colombo for a meeting with Prime Minister Wickremesinghe were informed of the assembly.
