Controversial air hostess Nithya Senani Samaranayaka, who worked for Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa while drawing a salary from Sri Lankan Airlines, was seen at the forefront of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna event at the Sugathadasa Indoor stadium, yesterday.
Samaranayaka was also indicted in the money laundering case involving Gowers Corporation owned by Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.
She is accused of misappropriating nearly Rs. 30 million in public ones. The Weliamuna committee appointed to look into cases of financial misappropriation at the national carrier concluded that the air hostess had apparently received Rs 4 million from the Sri Lankan Airlines while working at the Presidential Secretariat.
Samaranayaka was introduced to the Podujana Peramuna supporters at the event as a member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Tharuna Peramuna, the youth front of the Rajapaksa group.
