Deputy Minister Harsha de Silva, who chairs the government-appointed committee to look into the sAITM issue said their solution was now ready and it was acceptable to all stakeholders.
"Nine of nine Presidential members approved #SriLanka SAITM solution signed by all stakeholders on 30 December. Details to be released by Gov Info," de Silva said.
They were asked to formulate a final solution to the matter before the end of 2017.
It is learnt that according to the final solution, SAITM will continue to function as a not-for-profit, partially state owned institution.
De Silva also said the matter was widely discussed with all stakeholders before finalising the solution.
