President Maithripala Sirisena has said he will appoint a new Presidential Commission of Inquiry on SriLankan Airlines and Mihin Lanka. 

The President has made  this remark when he met a group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party organisers yesterday. 

The new Commission of Inquiry will be appointed after the President receives the report of the Bond Commission next week. 

The two airlines ran into massive financial losses due to mismanagement under the previous Government. 

Nishantha Wickremasinghe, brother in law of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was the Chairman of the national airline under the previous administration. 

Although the government appointed the JC Weliamuna committee to look into SriLankan Airlines nearly three years ago, his report still remains unimplemented.
