A Police officer in Vavuniya had told a human rights activist that she should ask for Tamil documents from President Maithripala Sirisena.
She had asked for a Tamil form when she visited the Police station to obtain a copy of a Police complaint.
"Police station in Vavuniya does not have tamil forms. When I asked for it, one of the police men said to talk about it with the president," the activist tweeted.
As she was unable to obtain a Tamil form, she had filled a Sinhala form in Tamil, her mother tongue.
The incident comes in the wake of the government declaring that it has successfully launched a tri-lingual language policy
