Secretary of the Wildlife Ministry R.M.D.B. Meegasmulla has been transferred as the Secretary of the Special Assignments Ministry. 

The decision has been made following a request by Wildlife Minister Gamini Jayawickrama Perera. 

The Minister has made the request after carrying out an inquiry into the conduct of the Wildlife Ministry Secretary, informed government sources said. 

It is learnt that D. Nanayakkara, Secretary to the Ministry of Special Assignments, will be appointed the new Secretary of the Ministry of Wildlife.
