President Maithripala has extended the term of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Treasury Bond Issue until December 31, 2017.
The Bond Commission was scheduled to present its report to the President tomorrow.
The commission two months ago said it had enough evidence to compile a report.
It also requested Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to make a statement on the Treasury Bond auction, last month.
With the extension of the Commission's term, its presentation date has been moved closer to the LG election.
It can be assumed that the Commission has found fault with Perpetual Treasuries owner Arjuna Aloysius and his father in law, former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran.
