Prisoners in Kerala state are likely to play a cricket match with Sri Lankan prison guards soon.
The magtch will be held in Kerala and an official request in this regard has already been presented to the Kerala state government, Indian media said.
The deputy inspector general (prisons) has been entrusted with the task of reviewing the preparation and the Sri Lankan Prisons Department has already given their consent to the match.
Detailing the preparations, an Indian prison officer told reporters separate training camps would be carried out for prisoners and jail officers to select teams.
"We may choose, Medical College cricket ground here or the one at Vellayani Agriculture college or the one at Vellayani Agriculture college or St Xavier's College," the official said.
