Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has ordered an inquiry into reports claiming that TNA MP S.M. Sridharan has allocated Rs. 4 million of his decentralised budget to renovate the Mahaveerar Mausoleum in Kilinochchi. 

It is believed that the bodies of a large number of LTTE members who does during the conflict had been buried in the Mahaveerar Mausoleum. 

The Prime Minister also ordered to suspend the renovation work with immediate effect, if carried out. 

Several media reports said the Mausoleum was being renovated to mark the Mahaveerar day which fell on November 26.
