The Petroleum Ministry has informed all fuel stations to stay open all night to facilitate fuel distribution.
The news comes even as the Petroleum Resources Ministry works to allay the fears of the public over a falsely reported impending fuel strike.
Yesterday the Petroleum Resources Ministry denied there was a fuel shortage or a strike by Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) workers as reported in some quarters.
Today the Petroleum Resources Minister filed a case with the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Police over false messages circulating regarding a fuel strike.
