Piyasena Gamage was this morning sworn in as Galle district parliamentarian before Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today.

Gamage replaces Geetha Kumarasinghe who was disqualified by an Appeals Court ruling on May 3.

Kumarasinghe challenged the ruling but it was upheld by the Supreme Court on November 2.

Piyasena Gamage, receiving the 7th highest number of preferential votes in the Galle district was next in line after Kumarasinghe.
