Local Government and Provincial Councils Minister Faiszer Mustapha this morning signed the Gazette notification relating to the upcoming Local Government elections.

Minister Mustapha promised last week that he would sign the Gazette notification for the oft-postponed Local Government elections on Wednesday (1).

The government agreed last week at a party leader’s meeting they would hold the Local Government elections on January 27, 2017.

The Local Government elections have been postponed for at least two years now.
