Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Faiszer Mustapha has said that he is prepared to issue the Gazette on the impending Local Government elections on November 1.

“I have been accused of wasting time,” the Minister told reporters, “but I was preparing the pitch for the match.”

“Now the pitch is ready – but I am not the one who calls the match,” he said further.

The government, finally, last week, agreed to hold the oft-postponed Local Government elections on January 27.
