The Badminton World Federation has imposed a ban on the Sri Lanka Badminton Association for non-compliance to international standards.

The Badminton World Federation had earlier this year warned the Sri Lanka Badminton Association it would be suspended if it didn’t get its affairs in order.

The Sri Lanka Badminton Association has not audited its accounts for the past eight years and due to the delay they are unable to hold elections.

The Badminton World Federation had given the Sri Lanka Badminton Association time until June 15, 2017 to hold its election, warning of suspension if they failed to do so.
