The Ratnapura district has recorded the most number of deaths in the floods and landslides currently affecting Sri Lanka as a result of the Southwestern monsoon establishing over the island.
According to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) 77 deaths were recorded in Ratnapura, 54 in Kalutara and 24 in Matara.
Twelve deaths were recorded in Galle, 5 in Hambanthota and 4 in Gampaha and 4 in Kegalle.
The whereabouts of 110 people is still unknown.
