The government says 13 deaths have been reported while four are still missing due to massive floods and landslides that struck the island this morning. 

 Minister of Home Affairs Vajira Abeywardene confirmed these figures but multiple sources said the death toll could increase in the next few hours. 

 The Ratnapura Assistant District Secretary says at least 10 people are reported dead in the Ratnapura District and several more missing. The majority of deaths occurred due to landslide incidents.

 The most affected districts are the Kalutara, Ratnapura, Galle and Matara districts
