Ravi Karunanayake assumed duties this morning as the minister charged with Foreign Affairs.
He served as Finance Minister for two years in the national unity government, but in a post-Vesak swap, President Maithripala Sirisena handed over reigns at the Finance Ministry to former Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera and appointed Ravi Karunanayake as Foreign Affairs Minister in his stead.
A number of Ministers and Members of Parliament attended the ceremony held at the Foreign Affairs Ministry this morning.
