ITN Directors Resign: Paves The Way For Media Minister To Appoint New Management

The Board of Directors of the state-run Independent Television Network (ITN) has resigned last afternoon, Media Ministry sources said. 

The director board was headed by Acting Chairman Saman Athaudahetty who is also an Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister. 

The resignation follows the appointment of the new Media Minister, Mangala Samaraweera. 

By resigning from their positions, the ITN board of Directors have paved the way for the Media Minister to appoint a new management to administer the state run TV station. 

Media Ministry sources said the new Chairman of the state-run TV station was yet to be decided.
