Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara, in an interview for the Lord’s Cricket Ground, said it was a ‘special feeling to have his portrait, together with that of Mahela Jayawardene and Muttiah Muralitharan hanging at the Lords.
“I feel very humbled and privileged. A bit unnerving to see myself on canvas and framed and hanging here with greats of the game that I’ve watched or heard about – it’s a special feeling,” the cricketing legend said.
“Lords is a special place for any cricketer – and especially for me – so I am very happy.”
“We got Murali just above us as well – so, three Sri Lankans on one wall – it feels pretty special,” Sangakkara said.
