A soil embankment at a construction site in Mawanella collapsed today killing one and burying two others.

Search and rescue is currently underway for the two buried under the earth.

The incident comes in the wake of a building collapsing in Wellawatte last week, killing three and burying 19.

A construction at a Hindu kovil in Batticaloa also collapsed last week injuring 18.
