More Rain Expected As Southwest Monsoon Conditions Establish Across The Island

Southwest monsoon conditions are likely to establish over the country during next few days with showery and windy condition expected to enhance over the southwestern part of the country, the Meteorological Department said.

It said showers or thundershowers would occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-western provinces and showers or thundershowers would occur at several places elsewhere, particularly in the afternoon.

Fairly heavy falls - more than 75 mm - could be expected at some places, particularly in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Eastern provinces, it further said.
