Showery and windy conditions are expected to enhance over the southwestern part of the country, the Meteorological Department said today.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-Western provinces, with showers or thundershowers occurring at several places in the Eastern and Uva provinces after 2.00pm, it said. 

Southwest monsoon conditions are likely to establish over the country during next few days (particularly from 25th), it said.

Fairly heavy falls (more than 75 mm) can also be expected at some places - particularly in the western and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
