A protest march led by the Inter-University Students’ Federation is currently underway in Colombo Fort.

The students expect to march to the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Ward Place, in Colombo 7.

The students are protesting against the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) but have also made other requests.

These include demands that the government allocate more than 6% of the budget to education and address university admissions shortages.
