Nepalese President Bidhya Devi Bhandari left the island this afternoon after a four-day visit to the island in honour of UN Vesak Day.

The Nepalese President was invited by President Sirisena to officiate as Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of UN Vesak Day celebrations held in Kandy.

The Nepalese President signed the guestbook at the Bandaranaike International Airport before her departure. 

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi officiated at the opening ceremony of the UN Vesak Day celebrations at the BMICH in Colombo.
