Susil Gunaratne was sworn in as a Minister of the North Central Province filling the seat left vacant by S. M. Ranjith.

North Central Province Transport and Youth Affairs Minister S. M. Ranjith resigned from his post on May 11.

Susil Gunaratne will now assume the post of Transport and Youth Affairs Minister.

S. M. Ranjith handed in his resignation in protest of the removal North Central Province Health Minister K. H. Nandasena who was replaced by Herath Bandara.
