Governor of the North Central Province P.B.M. Dissanayake has rejected the affidavit submitted by 17 provincial councilors affiliated with the Joint Opposition, calling for the removal of NCP Chief Minister Peshala Jayaratne.

The 17 provincial councilors have called for a new Chief Minister to be appointed to the North Central Province but the NCP Governor rejected their proposal.
