President Sirisena, Indian Premier Modi Pay Homage To Sacred Tooth Relic

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who visited Sri Lanka to participate the inauguration ceremony of the International Vesak Festival as the Chief Guest, and the President Maithripala Sirisena visited the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy and paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic, yesterday (12).

The Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela received the Indian Prime Minister when he arrived at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

The Indian Prime Minister after worshipping the Sacred Tooth Relic, visited the Mahanayake Theras of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters and offered Ata Pirikara to the Theras.

Later, he also signed the Guest Book at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

The construction works of the Faculty of Kandyan Dancing at the Sri Lanka International Buddhist Academy established with the financial assistance of the Government of India, commenced under the patronage of the Indian Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Ministers Arjuna Ranathunga, Malik Samarawickrama,Chief Minister of the Central Province Sarath Ekanayake and dignitaries participated in this event.
