Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan and the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) prior to his departure to India. 

This morning the Indian Premier attended as Chief Guest the UN Vesak Week celebrations in Colombo and opened the Dickoya Hospital later in the afternoon in Hatton.
