Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera is likely to be appointed as the co-cabinet spokesman representing the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. 

Jayasekera's appointment is likely to be made following a request by a group of SLFP ministers to the President. 

The move comes in the wake of the recent dispute between Cabinet spokesman Rajitha Senaratne and a group of SLFP ministers, including John Seneviratne. 

Current cabinet spokesmen Rajitha Senaratne and Gayantha Karunatileke will also function, alongside Jayasekera. 

Sources close to the President  confirmed that Rajitha Senaratne would not be removed from his position as the Cabinet spokesman.
