Another Case Against Geetha? Respondents Allege Contempt Of Court

The four voters who filed a case against United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Geetha Kumarasinghe have said they are prepared to go to court again, on charges of contempt of court against the politician.

“The day after the Court of Appeal verdict was given Kumarasinghe went to Parliament,” they alleged at a press conference held in Galle. “This is showing contempt to the Court of Appeal ruling. We are prepared to go before court again,” they said.

On Wednesday (May 3) the Court of Appeal ruled that Geetha Kumarasinghe was disqualified as MP as she had contested the election while holding dual citizenship in Sri Lanka and in Switzerland.
