National Freedom Front (NFF) leader parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa told media yesterday that a further 50 security officers have been reduced from Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s security detail.
However, Police Spokesman Priyantha Jayakody has rejected that statement.
Addressing the media Weerawansa said “Two days after the May Day rally the current government reduced former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s security by 42 officers. Today another 50 were reduced. By the time they call an election, all of his security officers will be removed,” the parliamentarian alleged.
