"No One Can Unseat Me Until Supreme Court's Verdict On My MP Post:" Geetha

UPFA Parliamentarian Geetha Kuamarasinghe says she cannot be unseated from Parliament until the Supreme Court's verdict on her MP seat.

"My lawyers will file a case before Supreme Court today. I will continue to function as an MP until the Supreme Court's verdict on the matter," she told media shortly after the court of Appeal's  judgement.

The Court of Appeal today determined that Kumarasunghe had no right to function as an MP as she holds dual citizenship in Sri Lanka and Switzerland.

"This judgement is unfair by the people in the Galle district. They voted me into Parliament," she added.

She said she was the only female Parliamentarian for the Southern province.
