President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday appointed Thilina Bandara Tennekoon to the position left vacant by Pramitha Bandara Tennekoon.

Pramitha Bandara Tennekoon vacated his seat on January 27 to protest the removal of his father Janaka Bandara Tennekoon as Dambulla organizer for the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

Thilina Bandara Tennekoon will assume the role of Central Province Minister for Industry.

His father Janaka Bandara Tennekoon was replaced by W.M. Yasaman and U.R. Daya Nandasiri.
