W.B. Ganegala has been appointed as the Acting Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board. 

His appointment follows the resignation of its former Chairman Anura Wijeyapala. 

Ganegala previously served as the Chairman of the CEB in 2013, under the Rajapaksa administration. 

A senior Administrative Officer, Ganegala was a former Secretary to the Ministry of Media and Information. He has also served as Secretary to the Ministry of Petroleum and Petroleum Resources Development and the Ministry of Housing and Public Amenities.
