Sixty-five families evacuated from Meethotamulla received houses at the hand of President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday.

The government previously handed over houses to thirty families evacuated from Meethotamulla.

The President recently ordered that Rs. 50, 000 be paid for three months to those without houses, so that they can lease temporary homes until the government provides them with new homes.

Ministers Susil Premajayantha, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Wajira Abeywardena, Deputy Ministers Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Dunesh Gankanda and MP S.M. Marikkar participated on this occasion.
