Kolonnawa District Secretary Sugath Sisira has said that several people who are not qualified to be receiving houses have been clamoring for houses from the government.

“These people are scuttling the process,” he said.

The Kolonnawa District Secretary said that while the government has taken all measures to give those affected by the Meethotamulla disaster homes, it was unfortunate that those who were not qualified to receive homes were making a big noise about not receiving homes.

“They are somehow trying to put their names on this list,” he alleged.
