An activist N. Kodithuwakku has set up a fund to help Meethotamulla victims and has invited MP’s who sold their vehicle permits to contribute a minimum of Rs. 1 million each.

In a letter entitles ‘Great Opportunity To Demonstrate Your Solidarity To The Distressed People’ N. Kodithuwakku said, ‘With due respect, I invite all my fellow citizens here and abroad to take part on this fundraising campaign…I also invite the following MPs who had defrauded public funds of Rs. 33, 000, 000.00 by abusing their MP tax-free car permits…join this worthy cause with a minimum donation of Rs. 1, 000,000.00 that they had embezzled from the Governments Tax revenue.’
