A generator at the Norochcholai coal power plant is not functioning, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said. 

The reason for the breakdown has not been identified, they further added. 

The CEB, however, said the power supply would  not be interruption due to the breakdown at the Norochcholai power plant. 

The power plant, funded by the Chinese, have undergone breakdowns for nearly 30 times, since its inception.
